Rob Roy

A twist on the Manhattan, the Rob Roy is said to have originated in New York City in 1894. It’s inspired by the Manhattan premiere of an operetta about the life of Rob Roy MacGregor.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 oz Clan Macleod Bold and Spicy Blended Scottish Whisky;

  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth;

  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters;

  • 2 cherries (for garnish);

  • Ice.

PREPARATION:

  1. Combine the whisky, vermouth, and bitters in a mixing glass filled with ice and stir until well chilled. (About 20-30 seconds)

  2. Strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass.

  3. Garnish with the cherries (you can spear them with a cocktail pick, too)
